On May 1, 1995 Chuck Mehlbrech purchased the shares and building interest from the other corporate officer. Since 1995 Chuck Mehlbrech, along with his wife Linda, own 100% of all McCook Insurance Agency stock.

The McCook Insurance Agency is very fortunate to provide four experienced agents. Rhonda Koch and Jolene Eichacker have been with the insurance agency for more than 13 years. Both Rhonda and Jolene have progressed from secretaries to licensed insurance agents. Darwin Miller joined the McCook Insurance Agency as a part-time life and health insurance agent in January of 2000. To date, the McCook Insurance Agency has a combination of over 48 years insurance experience.

The History of McCook Insurance Agency

The McCook Insurance Agency originated several years ago as a bank shareholder insurance agency. McCook County National Bank of Salem, SD owned its own very small multi-line agency.

In 1987 McCook National Bank sold its interest to a local insurance agent. On August 1, 1988 Chuck Mehlbrech purchased ownership of what was then known as the McCook Insurance Agency. In 1989 the McCook Insurance Agency moved into a vacant building which has formerly housed a gas station. After extensive renovations, it is difficult to tell the building was not originally built as an office building. The partnership soon became a corporation.
